LRWG Plein Air 2026 

As we transition back to our regular monthly meetings in September, our scheduled Plein Air sessions for 2026 have finished.

We may announce some EXTRA Plein Air pop-up sessions during the Fall, spending on the availability of our Plein Air co-ordinators Sam and Susan.

GENERAL INFORMATION on LRWG PLEIN AIR PAINTING SESSIONS

We invite you to join us in an informal session, painting outdoors with fellow artists at any level of expertise. 

NOTE: This Plein Air sessions is organized as a free, informal get together to paint scenery of a forest preserve, garden, lakeshore or urban environment. This is not a formal organized art class, and there is no instructor. We will have a 'friendly' (optional) half-hour of sharing and feedback at the end of each morning's painting session.

Disclaimer: The host, and the organizers who make this session possible cannot guarantee your safety or be responsible for personal injury, property damage and trespass resulting from your actions. Have fun but be careful. Ticks are out! So be cautious.

REMINDERS

  • Check the forecast for the day and dress for the weather. 

  • Call us to let us know you are joining us. Our contact info is below and on the downloadable PDF schedule. 

  • A sun hat, long sleeve shirt, long trousers and sturdy close-toed shoes are advisable.  

  • Bring water and a lawn chair or other seating.

  • Bring the minimum of equipment. You will be carrying it!! 

 

Suggestions for what  to bring:

a lawn chair, watercolor paper block or watercolor sheets taped to a board, a limited range of mixing colors or your fave outdoor colors, a bottle of painting water, a water container, paintbrushes, a pencil and eraser if needed.
