Join us at 9:30 am Nov 12th for our NOVEMBER PROGRAM:  "Reclaiming Old, Unfinished, Unsatisfactory or Unused Watercolor Paintings" presented by LRWG member Marie Smith.

We are trying something different for our November meeting -  A workshop format.

​

Marie will demonstrate how she breathes new life into paintings most of us would have given up on, discarded or put on the 'burn pile'.

​

Marie will be sharing her personal breakthroughs and demonstrating her favorite techniques for reusing old paintings.  Think of it as a mini-workshop—a perfect chance to swap ideas and immediately start using what we learn!

Ideas Marie will cover include:
1. Pen and ink enhancements 
2. Watercolor jewelry 
3. Note cards using original and printed art
4. Bookmarks and gift tags, including waxing techniques
5. Finding hidden gems in your paintings.
6. Shrink wrapping and fresh presentations.
7. Creating geometric patterns over washed-out watercolor paintings.

 

Marie will have examples to show how she has used these techniques using her own 'old' paintings.

Here are some ideas of things to bring to the meeting:

• SMALL paper cutter (ONLY if you have one)

• Scissors

• Discarded paintings

• Glue

• Pens (white and black ink)

• Dorland's-type wax,

• Templates

• An open mind to think outside the box!
